City wins three Transportation Association of Canada awards

Each year, the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) honours outstanding achievements by its member organizations.

 

For making our city safer & more climate resilient, the City of Edmonton wins three 2024 TAC Awards:
  • TAC Road Safety Achievement Award for its Speed Limit Reduction Initiative (part of Vision Zero(external link)), which reduced the default speed limit in Edmonton from 50 km/h to 40 km/h.

  • Climate Action Achievement Award for Strathcona Neighbourhood Renewal and Garneau Neighbourhood Renewal projects(external link) for the efforts to mitigate emissions from traditional modes of transportation.

  • Young Transportation Professional Award for Project Engineer Maggie Boeske for her work on The Bike Plan, The City Plan, Safe Mobility Strategy and updates to the Complete Streets Design and Construction standards.
